Public transportation applications need intuitive indicators that use symbols which are easily identifiable and visible in all conditions. For example, a passenger needs to be able to quickly identify from a distance if a toilet is vacant, occupied or out of order so that they do not unnecessarily waste time waiting or searching for the facilities.
